I now have arthritis in my right thumb, and I bought this thinking it might help with the pain I’ve experienced after practice. It’s a game changer! Not only does the notch for the thumb help, but the material itself allows your pinky to remain on top without slipping. My new favorite thing!
Finally a viola shoulder rest that doesn't fall off!
I am very happy with the Efel shoulder rest. It stays securely on the viola, can be shaped for a comfortable fit, and is very light. I was tired of my prior shoulder rest that never fit me well as a smaller person and regularly fell off my instrument. The Efel is what I was looking for without breaking the bank.

I wasn't sure how big of a difference this chin rest would make and before it arrived had looked into what the return policy was. But after I've installed it and played for a bit, I am delightfully surprised at how comfortable and ergonomic this chin rest feels! Definitely recommended.

After a few days of trials and errors, I figured out how to adjust multiple points of the shoulder rest to fit my shoulder and neck (I’m using a 3cm chin rest). And it has a super light weight. Now I find it much more comfortable to practice my viola than my previous shoulder rest.
