The Story

I have played the viola and the violin for my whole life. I have always been passionate about music and instruments and everything that goes along with it. My passion has driven me to teach many students through the years both to instill passion for viola and violin playing and to preserve the great tradition of music performance. As a performer, I have always had an interest in what are the best instruments?, what is the best shoulder rest?, what strings are great?, what mute is the best?, etc. I love trying all of them and have always been interested in finding the ones that I really think are the best! I also love to find products and instruments that have a story. Artisan products such as  rosins, chin rests, and shoulder rests really excite me. When I talk with a person that is developing a new rosin recipe it is fascinating and exciting. As a teacher, many years ago I started finding instruments for my students that worked for them and that would take them to levels they never thought possible. Seeing a student excited about a setup or a particular type of pencil or a great rosin is pure joy for me!
